It's been a long time since I tried painting a full face on one of my art dolls. My style has evolved quite a lot over the last few years, so I thought it would be interesting to see how my dolls would look with hand painted features.
I used a combination of acrylics, inks and Chromaflow pencils to create Temperance's large green eyes and gloomy expression. However, the most challenging part was designing the nose. Noses have never really played a part in my dolls' faces. I find them rather strange looking and never know how to make them look cute! I'm quite pleased with how this one turned out in the end, although I'm sure the way I paint features, including noses, will continue to evolve over time.
